Yawn

This American White Pelican was busy grooming itself and stopped for a big yawn....at least that's what I think it's doing.  It didn't dip into the water so it hadn't been fishing.  There are actually 2 pelicans here.  Look at the feet and move up to see the bodies.  They were both preening and until this one stopped to yawn.  The black birds are Double-crested Cormorants.  I often find them with pelicans.   But, in all fairness, this is their spot.  They are almost always right there. :-)

I am grateful that I didn't go out on my bike this morning.  It was sunny and cool at 10 AM but I saw some clouds moving in.  By 11 it was pouring rain.  That lasted about an hour and then the sun came back and it turned out to be a beautiful day.  I should have gone after the rain but I decided to take a walk instead. :-)
