Day 101 RIP Graham
This morning Chris phoned to tell me that his dad's breathing had changed and he had a weak pulse. I put my laptop away, jumped in the shower and headed out to see him. I was quite shocked by how much he'd deteriorated since Saturday. His face was sunken and his body seemed to have shrunk. A couple of hours later, Graham slipped away peacefully.
We stayed together, reminiscing about his life and laughed at the many funny stories that were told. He loved his family, his tea and his garden. He used to take his little burner and Walter, the kettle, on holiday and would brew up even on the hottest day on the beach. He didn't suffer fools and had a bee in his bonnet about 'bl**dy administrators'! He was a real personality with an amazing inner strength. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
RIP Graham.
The extra is Sadat, Graham's 24 hour carer, who is amazing and did a great job looking after him. This is taken in Graham's much-loved garden.
