A slice of the past

When I was a child in the 1960's every household had an egg slicer. They were normally made out of green Bakelite.

As egg and  tomato has become my go-to breakfast I ordered a new stainless steel one from Amazon.

Made in China, it's a fine little gadget, but it was the packaging that intrigued me. Not only the spelling mistake but the flaky cardboard and printing that I remember from way back then. I'm sure it's new but looks like it was made 60 years ago.
