Escape

For the first time in Lockdown, I drove a few miles to go for a walk.

Three reasons:

• I need to encourage my daughter to start doing some normal things. Like get in the car. She has been in the car once during Lockdown and that was last week when I bribed her with the promise of an ice cream.

• I needed to walk somewhere different. I have walked almost 800 miles this year; the majority from my doorstep.

• I needed to escape for a while but didn't want to be alone. Daughter would not have come if it was just one of our regular routes.

It rained. It was muddy in places. It was only 2.5 miles. But I got to spend time with a pretty amazing teenager.
