Weight loss journey progress report 28062020

Weekly progress report: goal achieved despite the new potatoes
Starting weight (25 May 2018 = 273lb)
Today’s weight = 190.6 lb
Average weight last week = 190.3 lb
Average weight this week = 190.2 lb
Weight loss this week = 0.1 lb
Note: I weigh every day first thing and calculate weight loss based on average weight for the week.

Week 14 of the lockdown and I am pleased to say I achieved the goal I set last week: a small loss or standstill. Loss is as near standstill as possible (0.1 lb) but it’s a loss! This is despite having given in to temptation three times last week and had large portions of allotment new potatoes as a component of my evening meal!! I just can’t resist them but they do have a detrimental effect on one’s weight as is clearly demonstrated when one looks at weights for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! It’s a good job I was able to resist from Wednesday onwards. The allotments are now providing the majority of dietary input with, in addition to the irresistible new potatoes, a good selection of vegetable and fruit with courgettes, peas, gooseberries, red currants and strawberries now being harvested in addition to the beet, spinach, onions, mixed greens, kale and herbs. Even had a couple of carrots which will soon be a regular feature.

Exercise is still limited to weeding, hoeing and harvesting in the garden and allotments which is light in terms of energy expenditure and does not burn off the calories so I will have to do my best to resist those potatoes, sweet treats and empty calories if I want to record a small loss or maintain standstill: my goal for the coming week. Unfortunately the weather seems to have broken with heavy rain since Friday so it may be difficult to maintain calorie burn levels of previous lockdown weeks. I will have to be extra vigilant in trying to avoid the white carbohydrates and empty calories.
I hope you all have had a good week and that you are keeping safe and fit in these uncertain times. I also hope that the lockdown is not having too much of a detrimental effect on your scales. Keep positive and safe.
