Between fen and mountains

Avocets and egrets

There was a profusion of different birds on the Wash today, egrets, oyster catchers, redshanks, terns, avocets and all the usual ducks and geese as well as birds I could not identify.  It was showery and blustery but the wind was not cold and the weather conditions made the marsh quite atmospheric.  The hides are still shuts but there was still plenty to see from the sea bank and the paths.
