From The Sublime To The Ridiculous

Today was the day a bunch of our things from the Connecticut house were put on the auction block.  It was interesting to watch the proceedings online ... and our emotions swung from excited elation to dispirited dejection as we went from a high bid of $7,500.00 for a framed John James Audubon print to a shocking low of only $100 for the most beautiful antique Federal overmantle mirror in perfect condition.  It will take me a long time to get over the sadness of seeing that treasure go for such a pittance, I can tell you.
