Light at the end of the tunnel?

If you ever go walking with Susan and she says let’s explore that footpath we always see the sign for and never have the time to walk. Walk straight on.

Because that’s what we did this morning and it led to a bramble and nettle filled copse which was wet as it was raining. When we emerged at the end of the wood there was no evidence of a way out. Much blundering about led us to a stile and a way across a couple of fields of tall grasses recently vacated by a herd of cows. Fortunately, we exited the field through a kissing gate just ahead of the herd who were sheltering under trees.

After that it was plain sailing. By the time we got back the sun was out and we were ravenous. Breakfast turned into brunch with a large bowl of porridge with banana, full cooked breakfast, toast, melon and coffee.

Replete, we didn’t do much the rest of the day. Talked to my two sons and Landon and cooked chilli for tonight while Susan was occupied in her studio.

Today’s blip is on another footpath prior to the aforementioned thicket. We passed by a frisky foal and a cute calf too before passing under the M20 in this tunnel. The persistent noise of the motorway is the one thing that spoils walks to the north of Maidstone. The wind direction is so important as one day the row is tremendous and the next when the wind is in the opposite direction it’s as if the road has been spirited away.
