Mallards Lake Swan Update

A marathon sleep by Susan to make up for the jet lag and poor night last night. By the time we had breakfast it was almost lunchtime! We did then go out for a walk, passing by Mallards Lake to check on the cygnets. Disappointed to find that only 3 of the 7 cygnets had survived the time we were away. That’s the nature of it, I suppose.

I went to the allotment to do battle with the weeds, making some inroads but still plenty more to do. Had a look at a root of potatoes, enough for some for dinner but they’ll have to grow on for another couple of weeks. While I was at the allotment, Susan was busy in the garden, clearing, weeding and putting in her summer bedding.
