Kitchen day

Spent most of the day in the kitchen. Just a few trips into the garden to check on my produce and the progress of the growing room. These summer turnips could have done with a little more growing but they need thinning out and actually tasted delicious albeit just a little taste!
I prepared a nut roast this morning which always takes longer than I think, lots of chopping. It was a new recipe but one of the best I've done. Barry enjoyed it too. As you can see from the extra not much left for tomorrow! 
Although I bake often I rarely make desserts but today was an exception. Lemon cheesecake, other extra, only with chocolate chips on the top because it looked boring! It really didn't need the extra calories. Needless to say that is no longer whole either!
Spoke to mum on the phone for 30 minutes trying to help her with an iPad problem from 300 miles away! She does extraordinarily well with technology, for a lady of 90 years, but it's difficult when things go wrong and no-one can just pop round and help her. We didn't solve the whole problem but I've hopefully rallied one of her grandchildren to go and sort her out. She misses Facebook where she keeps up with all the family and friend's antics!
Basically my day was cooking and eating!
