As the weather looked a bit unpredictable we thought we would head off to the beach at Lytham in the hope of finding something better . We arrived about an hour after high tide so didn’t have to walk too far to reach some paddling opportunities. We followed the sea as the tide went out , entertaining Bramble with the meaningless “throwing the sand” game as we went. We struck black gold as there was a lot of coal left behind on one part of the beach , Dave picked up 7 kg !
We watched the sky change from challenging grey to sparkling blue , the temperature rose and we were actually ‘hot’ on a British beach . I looked back ,landward s , whilst standing in the glorious sunshine and saw the dark tempestuous sky against the greens of the sand dunes and yellow sands. It looked so unreal and very lovely .
