Blakers Tower, Lewes
Went for a walk around The Priory of St Pancreas in Lewes ( my hometown) today.
The round tower is known as Blaker's tower, and was built in 1855 within the site of the Lewes St Pancreas Priory ruins in Lewes, East Sussex. The structure is believed to be a prospect tower a popular victorian landscape feature. Blake was a town clerk in the Borough if Lewes.
St Pancreas Priory is the first 11th century Cluniac Priory that was established in England. It survived for 450years.
