Thursday.. all Day
Despite the fact that the sun did eventually break through the gloom at 1pm, and there was still an east wind cooling the air, the young furloughed were scattered thickly in groups over the Meadows and Bruntsfield Links enjoying their free time. They didn’t seem to be feeling the cold but I really felt I should have had my gloves on when I walked out this morning- flaming June it ain’t!
It was a more social day for me today. Not only had I a zoom call with the Kitchen Table brigade from Maggie’s but I met up with the 2 widows of His Lordship’s walking companions. We sat at a picnic table in the Links and with so much in common, especially the experience of living in solitary confinement during lockdown, that it was very therapeutic to get together for a blether. With the loosening of restrictions announced today, at least we can get together officially next week on my patio and they can have a visit to the loo into the bargain.
I thought at first this flower was a rose, but it isn’t and no doubt someone will be able to tell me its name.
