Bog cotton
Been traipsing around the ness in the sunshine today, very slowly due to the heat. Not used to that at all. Not even a breath of wind to cool me down.
Lots of bog cotton and yellow flag iris in flower now as well as the little flowers. Apparently it used to be a tradition in some parts of Scotland that a bride would knit a pair of bed socks from bog cotton fibres to wear on her wedding night.
