Lakeland dog
Slept ok, but awake early, weather looked pretty wet overnight, but still warm and muggy.
We walked to the local shop for a paper, got a fresh baguette and a couple of other things for lunch.
Youngest son finally got his new glasses from the opticians this morning. They look great too, they were ordered and due just before lockdown, but his lens are specially made in Germany so its taken longer than normal.... this added to the initial fiasco of the glasses that the Eye Hospital provided, which were just awful, amounts to an overall wait of 7 months using his old ones which no,longer suit his needs.
We planned to have lunch in the garden, but had to decamp to the summerhouse when the heavens opened. We had a lovely long catch up and before we knew it it was almost 3 and we still had shopping to do.
We had a quick walk around the lake this evening in between the showers....you can see the dark skies reflected in the water, ehich shows off this overhanging dogwood rose beautifully.....well I think so :-)
We've had salt n chilli bellypork for dinner tonight, not ideal on SW, but it was pretty lean and I cooked it in the oven, drained and dried off all the fat, I had mine with roasted veg and couscous....hub had chips and beens ;-)
Had a few rumbles of thunder this evening, but no storm to date, although I know there have been plenty around the north west today! Hopefully a bit less rain tomorrow!
Looking forward to watching the final
episode of the Salisbury drama tonight, really enjoying it.
Stay stafe one and all
