Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Ribena anybody?

The first of the blackcurrants are starting to change colour, can't wait.
Another dreich morning but I managed to get out for my walk first thing, it had been raining so was damp but that is a plus as there are fewer people around.
Back home to laze around until I could be bothered being active again. At lunch time we went out for a walk locally then popped down to Stockbridge to the butchers. I walked back again. I needed to buy a 21st birthday card but there's really not much local choice at the moment. Buying the present has been even harder.
Spent a bit of time sorting things in the garden in the sunshine of the early afternoon / evening. The peas have lots of flowers on them, the currants are turning colour and the lettuce are probably bolting! On the decorative side, our Ruby wedding roses are full of buds, the white peonies are spectacular and just going beyond their best, the delphinium are in full flower and my white hydrangea - which took a scunner last year - looks like it's going to do well.
My sweet peas, both in pots and flower beds, are all under a foot high but I'm sure they will suddenly spring into life.
Keep well and safe everybody, it's going to be so nice to meet up again when it's safe
