Sally Mair - Loving life

Stronger than Dirt

This pack of Ajax was in A's kitchen cupboard in her new house, I used it to clean a mark off the second hand fridge I bought last week. I don't think it's still available but it brought back memories. My mum preferred its rival Vim, so that was what I used too. Those tiles won't be there for much longer either ...
Father's Day today so after church I made us bacon rolls then we went out for a walk, to D'mains and then on, between the golf courses to Barnton and home through the Barnton Park woods 5.5 Mike round trip. We were the 12th family to move into the Barnton Park Estate in 1960 and Dad lived there till 1985. The original owners formed a residents association, the Barnton Policy Parks Association and bought the woods from Miller's the builders over a period of twenty years so that they could never be built on. Very forward thinking of them and a real asset. I spent my childhood there, climbing trees, hanging rope swings, dangling from bramches and generally having a wonderfully free and happy childhood.
Once home I did a bit of gardening then after dinner came down to K and J's she's on nights and he has to be in work for 6am tomorrow so I'm on get up and take to school and nursery duty. Fingers crossed for a quiet night and not too early a start.
22800 steps today, I should sleep well!
