Today I went for a little hike- exploring an area that I hope to take the girls to in the future. On the walk in, there were what seems like a dozen cattle guards to navigate across. The forest opened up to a field full of cattle. They were quite close, and I couldn't resist capturing a few. This little calf was off a bit from the cows, and was nestled in a cozy spot watching me. She looked to be waiting, patiently, for business to be finished up so she could move along with the herd. I admired her- strong, independent, alone. She was not afraid, she was assured that her mother would come strolling along to get her as soon as she was ready. She looked right into my eyes, and I was filled with peace, calm, direction. It's not quite what I had expected from the hike, but it was welcomed.
So, here is a photo, as people have asked me to pick the camera back up and capture something, anything. The next time I hike this area, I will certainly be inspired to capture some more of the lovely forest scenery.
