Happy Valley

Very humid today - positively tropical compared with yesterday - and, for a few minutes this afternoon, as we walked through the woods in Happy Valley, the sun shone through the trees. It was glorious! By the time we reached the open grassland the sun had disappeared again, cloud had come down over the hills (extra), and it was decidedly gloomy. Almost autumnal with a hint of melancholy - even the birdsong seemed muted. Though the foxgloves were cheerful (extra)!

Not much achieved today, though MrM started to clear the hallway ready to clean the wooden flooring, in preparation for oiling next week. That'll be fun...
