Appreciation

Marvelling at how pre-Covid I regarded food shopping as a tedious chore.  Barely noticing as I chucked it in the fridge.

Not any more.  The 'taking your life in your hands' aspect of shopping and the ritual of washing and drying fresh foods brings a more tender appreciation of the gift each item is.  And of the costs and benefits of the long chains that bring it to my table.  I guess growing things brings that awareness closer to the surface.

So pretty too.
