Dog tired
What a contrast to yesterday. It was warm! Took Fletch to A H as it was cooler under the trees, but sunny areas for me. A long stroll as usual. The flower beds have been replenished and looking lovely. We got chatting to the chef. They're crossing their fingers that they may be able to reopen in some capacity next month but it will take careful RA planning.
It still seems to early.
Back home and we decided to try out the new lightweight long reach hedge cutters. So much better than the heavy duty one M bought years ago from Homebase only to realise even Arnold Schwarzenegger would have had difficulty lifting it. We got the side hedge done and it looks very neat.
Fletch got his tea time walk up to the banking by the dock. We didnt go far as it was very warm. Temp on our outdoor thermometer said 25!
It was very busy, mostly with fishermen who had pitched up tents last night and looked very settled. I wonder how many stayed overnight !
Blip is of Fletch in his usual sleep mode during the evening. On the back of the sofa with a full view out of the window. He can be completely zoned out , but a noise from the garden can have him up, alert and racing out of the house in 2 seconds. I wish I could wake up like that! Well perhaps not racing outside.. but just to wake up alert.
I've just locked up and I can hear Mr Toad rustling about in the undergrowth. Weve no pond or stream but weve had toads living in the garden as long as weve lived here..35 years. There are lots of damp areas especially as we have so many plants in large tubs that need watering. I'm not sure how they've survived but I'm pleased they have. I dont even know what they eat. I think its slugs.. if so he wont go hungry tonight . All the watering has brought them out.
Thank you everyone for the stars. Stay safe and well.
