Slag bank walk and tip trip
A damp morning but no rain. Loaded up the car with all the rotten log edging.
En route to the tip we stopped at Tool Station ( definitely better than the experience at Screwfix) .
Next we parked down by Channel side to walk Fletch. There wasnt any wind and so we walked north up to the top of what was once the slagbank. It was grassed over about 20 years ago and shrucpbs have been planted. It's quite high and it was good to look out over the sea and over to the Laked District hills.
It had been so grey and dull when we set off so I didnt take the camera. Next time I will take it and take some more interesting shots for the Close to Home project,
A lot of the paths were more overgrown since the last time we were there .. must have been several months ago.
It was a good walk and very relaxing.
We then went round the corner to the recycling centre and queued in the car for 40 minutes.. still managing to stay calm.. queuing.. a sign of our times.
Extras from the top of the slag bank.
If you look on a big screen you can see 5 figures walking across Walney Channel.. on the old narrow foot bridge. They only just made it as the tide was coming in very swiftly
