Flower of the plant salsify.

At the allotment again today to survey how good the rainfall had been - it was looking good but I had no time to carry out the digging needed.  
Right from the beginning of lockdown we have been able to go to the  site but I wondered what it would have looked like if the gates had been locked - a field of wild flowers I think. This one is salsify and soon it will have its large dandelion-like seed head - blip photo of the future probably!
