Keeping an Eye on Things

Another day has slipped seamlessly away with one Zoom call and one face to face meeting with 2 friends sitting outside in a 2metre equilateral triangle, and yes, we are slightly breaking the 1 friend rule and we are all over 70, living on our own. However using the Dominic Cummings loophole, we considered it essential for our mental health.

The snell east wind blowing over us was enough to deter any viruses lingering in the vicinity and was also enough to call short the meeting. I cycled home amidst a throng of little people on every sort of 2 wheeled machines that exist and all wandering hither and thither over paths and grass. It was like some kind of obstacle race and a deterrent to using cycle paths-almost better to take one’s chance with the potholes on the roads.

Interesting to note that less than a fortnight before midsummer the temperature this afternoon was ‘ feeling like 10°’.
