Turning the hay
This is another blip documenting farm work in the Lincolnshire countryside. Today they were turning the hay that was cut last week for drying. I hope they have seen the forecast for tomorrow which is for rain. I chatted with Tony on my walk and he told me that the sea of daisies that I blipped last week is may weed and it has proliferated this year as it was first too wet to get on the land and then too dry too quickly. The weather is never right for farmers! Interestingly, I heard him use a Lincolnshire dialect word, yucking, to mean pulling or jerking. The last time I heard that word used was when I the tower captain told me I was jerking the bell rope. That was 30 years ago!
