I GOT THE GREEN! I GOT THE GREEN!

I rarely see green herons in Florida, so I'm REALLY surprised when I see them in Michigan. I have seen this heron in this spot several times, and I have named her Gertrude...Gertrude the Green.

Gertrude never lets me take her picture, so she must have been REAL hungry this morning. She was into the hunt. She was shaking, she was scratching, and she was stretched out...ready to strike.
