Field Of Dreams

The softball field in our little town has been restored.  I've always loved this old Grandstand.  My daughter played here in 3rd and 4th grades.  I can hear the bats hitting the ball with a crack.  Smell the Big League Chew bubble gum the girls loved to chew.  I can hear them cheering each other on and see the coach taking them aside to give them some advice.  They played some of the other small towns around within a 15 mile radius and they actually won a championship when she was in 4th grade.  Not here but in a neighboring field.  They went on to play in the All Star tournament in the heat of summer that year with scorching temperatures and the coaches bringing spray bottles to spritz them on the field.  Oh such fun times!  Anyway in the last 5 or so years it has been restored and I love the wooden pegs that hold it together and the heavy beams.  There's a closeup in Extra if you're interested.
