Happy 77th birthday

We had a very cold 11c day in our garden (last week it was 30c) with daughters and children to celebrate Mr C being 77. A very strange lockdown experience - usually there are hugs and games and treats of meals out or visits. However I had managed to get enough flour for a cake and had saved icing sugar and it was wonderful to see them all together, albeit at a distance.

The children were very good at keeping a distance yet managing to play together. It was such a treat for them. They ran about in the wood while we chatted to the daughters. They had all made lovely cards for Mr C. I hope to make a collage of them.

Chris parked her car on the road outside and put puppy Rex, now 9 weeks, on the grass and the children all watched him run around. He went up to each of them to be petted then ran back to James - the children thought Rex a lovable sweet little puppy.

James is going back to school on Monday. I hope he understands it won’t be like it was. Luckily he is getting his usual teacher and 2 friends will be in his bubble of 15. They have a timed slot for pick up and drop off. Thomas might be going back next week. Ella and Nathaniel are not going back this term. That is the parents’ choice.

We are going to have a drink and I’m making a nice meal. I have the heating on.

The blip is them all singing Happy Birthday.
