Petra - North Cornwall
This is a macro of a piece of what we now regard as "our" stone. It's going to be a piece of Mrs Booty's long anticipated garden walling. I find the striations to be particularly beautiful and reminiscent of Petra, Jordan from which so many striking images have been taken.
Time is meaningless and man's abilities tiny when compared with what the earth has produced here, yet given the tools and materials we can produce a Petra.
I hope none of the militant headbangers get it in their tiny minds to destroy Petra. Enough gloom, today is the first day of the 6 Nations. I am lost to the world at large,- farewell! (flounces off in search of food and tea)
Pssssst, Ethereal creature above the clouds, please let Edinburgh be quiet tonight after a drubbing of the local lads. Don't be too harsh on them but don't let them away with 1990 again, purrrrrrleeeeze. (I was there, Princess Anne heard my despair and smiled; come the revolution brothers she will be first on the tumbril) - I love rugby, you can take a kicking and joke about it afterwards. Bon chance to all.
