Deserted
Yes, today the weather really changed. About 10 degrees cooler and there had been a fair bit of rain overnight too.
I realised the other day that I had given away all my masks so I ordered another online from Freja and was able to go and pick it up. As I had taken the car into town I took the opportunity to walk to Princes Street. It was incredible, our main street in the centre of town almost completely empty. I did see two trams and a bus. Oddly enough everybody on the bus was sitting in the same area at the back of the downstairs which seemed a little odd and most were not wearing masks either..... Hmmmmm! I must say that I did wonder why the trams were still running as they mainly serve the airport. I'd have thought the council would have been cheaper providing a free bus to meet the few planes that there are, rather than running trams all day long. On my way back home again I stopped the car at Soderberg and bought my first take away latte for almost three months.... and a cinnamon bun too. I took them home and they were so delicious, I really do think that their coffees are amongst the nicest I've ever tasted.
This afternoon we filmed me reading the lesson for Sunday and I altered my mask to make it fit better, I seem to have a small head.
After my disappointing Chinese meal the other week I was pleased to see that the take away in D'Mains has reopened so ordered a meal from there. It was ready for collection in 10 minutes and was much more to my liking. I'm pleased to report that I still have working senses of taste and smell.
I enjoyed watching my daughter performing in a YouTube video of the Sick Kids virtual choir. Proud mummy moment. You can watch it here : https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/people/watch-sick-kids-staff-give-uplifting-performance-lean-me-virtual-choir-2873232
The weather has been much better this evening, the rain has started away and the wind has dropped. We went for a short walk after dinner then watch the last episode of series 8 of Vera. Only two more series to go.
Keep well and safe everybody and obey the rules. I'm looking forward to a blip meet. Who would have thought that our Peebles meet on the 2nd of January would be the last for such a long time.
