A good walk...

in an icy north wind, showed a hillside blue and purple and white with the beautiful Hearts Ease or Field Pansy. There was a wonderful display this year. 
The Oystercatchers, Lapwings and Curlew love this area for breeding and seem to have a second brood on the go, being very noisy and intent on chasing me away.
Later, in the woods found another Woodpecker nest with the parents feeding the young.
