a triangle of pigeons...

...high in the sky

i wasn't going for pigeons today - they weren't even on my radar, really - although i like them a lot... but today i'd had other plans for my blip as i headed out...

i arrived at the lake - it was uber cold - the kind of windy that whips your hair around your face so you can't see anything - and the tips of my fingers began to get sort of frozen very quickly... the geese ignored me - squirrels wanted food, albeit they were cute as ever - gulls were everywhere... this was going to be my focus... i'd decided it before my arrival

however, after getting back home - uploading my pictures and scanning through them - this is the one i kept coming back to... (does that happen to you?) i hadn't even realized i'd captured many pigeon shots at all - yet somehow i picked off this one - of 3 lovelies - flying through the air... what brings my attention back to it - is the split level of color with the sky - as well as the 3 different kinds of pigeons themselves - to be able to time it so - allowing for a variety to be in the shot - flying through the clouds, in the deepest blue sky - with the sun reflecting off the top one... it just feels special to me - a study of pigeons in flying formation - a joyous abandon like no other - which made for...
