Got Me A Lemon Tree!
I couldn't resist it when I saw them outside Morrison's when we did our click and collect.
I bought it on a whim and didn't think about specifics till we got back. When I say specifics I mean - where to put it, what type of compost and feed and finding a good pot for it.
Anyway, I've done the research and there's no reason why my little lemon tree shouldn't thrive. Frank is not so confident!
Which makes me determined to prove him wrong! :-D
It's been a hot day and I didn't sit out much. I did water all the mooring gardens to keep some plants alive for the absent boaters. I would have done more weeding for them but I think the cause of my injured knee last week is that I spent the whole day before bending and kneeling and pulling out weeds then it only took another slight stoop next day for it to go. I think I've actually torn something as it hasn't got better as quickly as other times and the swelling is above the knee. It's not sore really, just achey - it feels like it will go 'snap' if I bend it.
Early this evening I decided to dye my hair. Once the dye was on I put an old shower cap on. I always wear a tatty black T shirt for the job and I also had shorts on and the elastic knee support. Not a pretty sight! I just came out of the bathroom when Bella came dashing into the boat, grabbed fluffy duck and ran up the tow path. Which means only one thing - a visitor! I was on the phone and went and hid in the bedroom to wait until the 40 minutes develop time was up! I realised who the visitor was when I heard Eddie's voice outside. He's the sign writer who painted the name on our boat and has become our friend
I eventually joined them outside (2 meters apart) roots done and fresh as a daisy and we had a good laugh about it and how Bella is my early warning system!
The sky is dark grey now and threatening rain. It is much needed and I'll be happy if we get a good downpour. Apparently lemon trees do better with rain water!
Nearly book and bedtime and I'm on the last chapter. New book tomorrow! :-)
Goodnight :-) x
