Interplay Of Light

Taken about an hour before sunset, the light is still pretty strong despite sporadic clouds. Low in the sky, sunbeams highlight trunks here and there, casting shadows across others. Beyond their reach, dark leaves create a mysterious air.

Strong vertical lines formed by the trees, some in light, others in shade, give the image a striking graphical pattern.

It took some work when editing to balance the exposure across the frame, reducing bright spots and blocked shadows that would otherwise attract the eye. I feel this is important so I can view the whole image as one and explore its nuances.

The alliums, now in full bloom, look wonderful this year (see extra).
