Us cyclists we're out in force again this morning. There was one chap who I've now seen half a dozen times and usually our paths cross twice at the same place as he must cycle his same route every day as I do but this morning I saw him three times and on each occasion he smiled and said good morning. What a nice chap I think I'll call him Cross Over Man but like Lotsa Dogs I probably won't see him again.

After breakfast I went to the barbers. It's nice because I don't have to go very far as Ros does it for me. She's not doing it because we're imprisoned as she's cut my hair for the last ten years since we gave up work. It started when I went to the barber in Henley and he said how would you like your hair cut I said please can I have it short like the last chap. Although I did not see the barber cutting his hair as he'd finished as I arrived. Anyway he took out his electric hair clippers and within seconds I had my short hair and a bill for £9.00. On the way home I thought Ros could do that. So I bought a Walh Hair Trimmer which by coincidence cost £9.00 and Ros has been cutting my hair ever since. Lets say on average I've had my hair cut half a dozen times a year and ignoring inflation I've save £540.00 less the cost of the clippers and I don't have to wait or drive anywhere. A rare win win situation. Although for some unknown reason Ros won't let me loose on her hair.

A had a couple of interruptions during the morning as a two friends phoned. A fellow Committee Member of the Bentley Drivers Club wanted to catch up before our Zoom Committee meeting next Saturday and Robert wanted to give me an update on his mole catching as he's caught three this week.

Regardless of the interruptions the Bentley progressed well again. I finished of the offside cleaning the running board and painted it with tyre black fitted the rear door handle and the fittings for the side screens. I then moved to the rear cleaning the fuel tank rear springs fitted the rear digital sidelights/brake lights. Which I'm glad to say worked straight away without incident. I then flatted back and polished the skuttle. The paint and lacquer coat were still soft but I managed to buff it up to a reasonable shine but I will come up a lot better when the paint has completely hardened. In the end I'm glad I woke during the night and decided to take the screen off and repaint the whole skuttle as its looking good.

Before tea we relaxed in the sunshine sipping a glass ofice cold Prosecco.

Tomorrow weather permitting I am going to start the upholstery as I can use the hand sewing machine outside on the freshly painted garden furniture and park the Bentley near by for trial fittings.
