Rhododendrons at Sandringham
We ventured further afield for a walk and spent the day in Sandringham country park. The rhododendrons were at their best and the woodland paths gave some shelter from the strong sun. We also took a second walk to enjoy our picnic above Dersingham bog, a site of special scientific interest and the largest area of lowland mire and heath in the country. I was hoping to see some bog asphodels, sundew and black darter dragonflies but they were not in evidence. I did spot a memorial to the singer, songwriter and environmentalist, John Denver.
