Shield bug

Found on my windowsill.
Don't know what sort, they seem so variable. If anyone knows more about them its body is just under 2cms long.
Warmest day of the year, I think.
started the bread-making and left Mr Rat to finish while I cycled to the community centre for packed lunch duties.
A bit of gardening. We tried to move a small tree into a bigger pot but its roots had come through the old one and were immovable, we may have killed if off in trying but it has some new soil and lots of water and we're not going anywhere soon to neglect the frequent watering so here's hoping.
A short run and met a friend so stopped for a chat which was longet than the run!
