Was it worth it?

Spent 3/4 hour trying to dig up the root of a dead fuschia bush which had somehow got entangled with the jasmine. Then had to spend another half hour cleaning, boots, fork and patio. My theory was that the clay soil would be easier in the wet state. Anyway, it was nice to be in the garden doing something in the watery sun and finding there are more shoots appearing than I thought. Soon be March!
