I had a drive up to Fraisthorpe beach this afternoon. The sun was shining, but the clouds had a stormy cast in the distance so I thought that I'd try some shots on my dslr of the concrete structures in the beach. They were built during WWII and there used to be several look outs that you could get into, but alas the sea has broken them up.
This stretch of beach also used to be a nudist beach for years until the council stopped it in the late 80's. There used to be a sign painted on one of the look outs stating that it was a nudist beach beyond that point. Pity it's no longer there as it would have made a great shot......the sign not the nudists (or maybe they would)!
I like this shot, but the sky is washed out again, despite having a polarising filter on. I fiddled with various settings and the filter but couldn't get it any better. I still like it though....
I'm off to York tomorrow with the girls and back on Sunday so I'll probably be back blipping. Something to look forward to!
