A flower well into autumn deterioration and a monarch chrysalis about to burst into new life.

The flower head, glowing in the sunlight is for the Flower Friday challenge and the chrysalis shows the clarity of the casing and the development of the butterfly wing. 

You might remember how green a chrysalis looks when the caterpillar first morphs into a chrysalis and this shows the transformation just before the butterfly emerges.



Thank you so much for the comments and stars for yesterday’s abstract in my favourite colours. Yes, it is a rim of a locally made pottery cup, finely crafted and glazed and used for my lunch-time cup of black tea.
