Sunbeams

Field Vole

(Microtus agrestis).  This little animal was on my window sill having climbed up in-between the forsythia and the honeysuckle.  I think he was nibbling the honeysuckle leaves.  By the time I had reached for my camera he was well hidden but I managed to get this little glimpse.  Apparently there are 75 million of them in the UK!  Their diet consists of seeds, roots and leaves and in turn they make a tasty morsel for kestrels, owls and weasels.

I did not snap the postman today as he was ending in the Superman costume which he was wearing right at the beginning.
