Lake Wanaka
The day dawned clear, calm and crisp. Just the quintessential Central Otago day.
So of course, with no kids around we lazed around - got up late, drank coffee, had a spa pool, late breakfast. We then discovered that one of the Alpacas had just given birth, so we watched the antics of a newborn Alpaca for an hour or so - very cute.
Being such a beautiful day it was then time to get into the wilderness. We grabbed our bikes and headed to Minaret Burn - a great walking and mountain biking track on the west side of lake Wanaka. No wind, sunny - just perfect conditions. We stopped at Colquhouns Beach and admired the rather stunning view ...
30km later and about 4 hours after all the stops we got back to Wanaka around 6pm, grabbed some Thai takeaways and headed back to the house.
Another sublime evening!
