Watery starburst

Awake at 4:30a.m. so sat down at the bottom of the garden to listen to the dawn chorus. It was amazing. There was quite a heavy frost too.
Then decided to drive for the guest time other than for work and shopping to a favourite place before any crowds could appear! Started walking at 7:30.
Heard a cuckoo for the first time in two years, lots of swallows, house and sand martins. Wandered, listened, sat and took in the beauty of the day, the woods and wild flowers and the peace. Didn't get home til after 11 and only saw a handful of people. However when I got back to the car there were numerous ones parked near by so I scuttled off home.
And this afternoon I have been a complete wastrel until cooking Yotam Ottolenghi's cauliflower cake.
Just been out clapping along with the neighbours and drummers, quick chat an now a late tea.
