Hell’s Angel

My 5 year old is a huge enigma to me & many others who know her. She can be so very challenging with her introspection one minute & outward flamboyance, the next. It’s still very difficult to describe what type of person she is, but maybe it’s too early to attempt to do that. This is probably what makes her interesting- complex, but interesting.

Quite some weeks ago, she cracked the art of riding a two-wheeler bike & I was so proud of her. She was clearly very pleased with herself too, but modest with it. It was no big deal.

After this, she’s flirted with the idea of riding her bike but hasn’t really been interested in committing to it in any serious fashion.

Today however and for whatever reason, best known to herself, she was on fire. Her bike riding skills were second only to Bradley Wiggins. I watched her; my heart bursting with affection as she zoomed around the park, weaving in & out of obstacles, overtaking her sister & pedalling at the speed of lightning.

It was clearly another right of passage for her. She was ready to take hold of this particular gauntlet & take hold, she did!

Her imaginary superhero school leader & Mrs Owl are both incredibly proud too.
