Sally Mair - Loving life

Be prepared

Not that I've been in a shop or supermarket for many weeks, but in preparation for that I've bought a couple of masks. There are many independent designers in Edinburgh who are turning their many talents to such things. These were made by Freja who normally makes exquisite designer clothing. I bought these two for A & S and a lighter blue one for me. The ladies in my family all have small heads and the elastic loops on these were very long. Rather than mess about trying to shorten them, I sewed a button into the centre of one and now the loops fasten at the back of our heads and there is no discomfort around our ears. I also have another rather smart mask which I may blip on a quiet day. It was made by Mairi Brown, another skilled local designer. Its tough for creative self employed people, so good to be able to help out.

I seemed to spend most of today in the kitchen making a rather tasty beef stew. We don't really eat much beef apart from mince, so it was a nice change. The meat just melted in your mouth.

I had a 2 mile walk today, no sign of the badgers though.

I was pleased to see that my peas and sweet peas survived their first night out in the big bag world. Fingers crossed

Keep safe everybody and stay well and healthy. If you live South of the border, be safe too. Remember that the world needs Lerts, preferably healthy ones!
We're getting there, slow and steady.
