Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Boo!

First of all thank you so very much for the hearts for my lovely baby badger yesterday, I've never had so many popular votes, thank you. Colin must have been fed up with me telling him every time that another heart arrived. The baby badgers were one of the loveliest things I've ever seen so I'm glad you liked them too!

After the excitement of yesterday, this is the only picture I took today! It has been cold still, but for much of the day the sun shone. I planted out some more of my sweet peas, and decided to leave my pot of peas out of the cold frame tonight, so I set up the cans for it. I also finally got around to emptying my final sack of King Edward potatoes from last year, 2.2kg so pleased with that. This year Maris Peer seen to be taking forever to chit. I may just give up and plant them anyway, I'm fed up of them taking up so much space in the kitchen.

I had a practice zoom meeting with a friend who is leading the service on Thursday just to make sure everything was working OK - it was.
Made an apple sponge for dinner this evening, the weather had gone very cold and grey so we thought we'd have some comfort food.

While out on our walk after dinner I noticed that the display in the window of my friend's shop had gone awry, so took a photo to send to her. With the marvels of technology they were able to fix it remotely. When I looked at the picture to send her, I rather liked the reelection of the street and the centred selfie of me and my phone, so that's my blip!

I think we've pretty well seen the confirmation that my trip to Iona in the last week of June is going to be cancelled. Nothing official yet, but time is running out and it wouldn't be possible to socially distance ourselves as a group of 25 in the house, even if we were allowed to travel there.
I've been looking forward to it for two years, but I suppose worse things have happened.

Keep well, stay at home and be safe everyone, how the weeks are flying by.
