Swan Tragedy
This morning 4 cygnets took to the river with Ma. 3 drowned. The river too cold for them. Someone hauled out the 4th and took it home to warm it up.
I'm so glad I didn't see this. I'd not realised the 8 eggs were laid over a 2 week period. So, 4 eggs still to hatch . The commotion meant this last 4 were not sat for an hour. When I arrived the watchers were recovering and so were Swans. They spent ages moving the eggs around and covering them. The male sat before I left........ very upset.
