Red!

This rhododendron is at last opening its flowers. I hope they are not all dead tomorrow - today has been very cold and windy, but also sunny and with the occasional shower. The rhoddies are tough, it should be ok. 

Why is red such a difficult colour to photograph? In reality this is a much deeper, purer red. I've fiddled about with it, but it still looks far too pink.

I've spent a fair bit of the day moving my sewing stuff out to  the workroom. It has been occupying two rooms of the house for months now, but as we haven't had anyone to stay recently it hardly matters. 

TM spent a happy hour with his friend C at the Isolation Inn.  And now we're off out to light the bonfire, again. We've had a really good hack amongst the spruce trees at the back, and there's tons of undergrowth to be got rid of. It's still quite windy so we should have a good blaze.
