Mystery

As I walk along the back lanes I see several of these constructions at the end of what would have been gardens, but are now car parks. They are very similar in form to each other. Now some of them have been converted to garages, but they look as though they would have had a different function when they were built.

There would have been a door, now bricked up, on the left where the green sign can be seen.

Since the houses on the road would have been quite grand I wonder if these small buildings might have been for a servant (or servants). Maybe a maid or chauffeur?

The rain yesterday has had a devastating effect on the blossom. Today we have had a hail storm which will have removed more blossom from the trees. There was a cold wind, but the day has been quite sunny. The temperature is now 6º compared with 19º a couple of days ago.
