Striking a pose

Today was the first time I took part in the Zoom meetings my music group have been doing since the beginning of April. I was worried about security and privacy problems with the Zoom software and have been participating in a 'semi-detached' way up until now, preparing video introductions and passing these on along with sound files to the guy who's hosting the meetings.

The Zoom developers have improved things considerably, to the stage where I felt okay about actually joining the meetings. Carl and I have done several tests leading up to this, and I did another test with our Zoom host a couple of days ago. Things went reasonably well, and I will probably keep on joining the meetings. I have to, really, since the guys have decided not to return to live get-togethers until we reach Phase 4  of the re-opening roadmap, which means we won't meet again in the flesh until 25th July (!).

Anyway … dear Alison, who's dropped by several times 'for a cuppa', suggested that we do a mountain-and-mohammed thing now that I'm allowed outside the immediate confines of my house. So when the Zoom meeting ended I jumped in the car and went round to her place (well within the 5km radius) to sit together in her garden this time rather than in mine. We had a lovely time in the glorious sunshine, enjoying our 'cuppas' and chatting, chatting, chatting..

When I asked about taking a blip she readily obliged. She'd read or seen somewhere that the best pose for having your portrait done is to twist slightly. Perhaps she's right.
